Greenco Industries, Inc. a non-profit organization that provides day services and work services for 110 adults and teenagers with disabilities and residential services for 20 disabled adults in both Green and Lafayette Counties. All disabilities are served both on campus and in the communities through work, recreation and residential services.
In 1971, a survey prepared by Green County Department of Health and Social Services outlined a need for Social and Community Integration programming for disabled adults within the county.
By the end of 1973, twelve people were attending this program. In 1979, continued program growth prompted a move to a 9,000 square foot facility at 315 – 11th Street. Programming emphasis shifted from an arts and crafts curriculum, to a production based vocational training format.
Again program expansion during the 80′s realized the need for increased space. A 27,000 square foot plant was built in 1992 on the current site. Eight short years later, an addition of equal size was erected on the north side of the existing structure, complete with an additional 4,500 square feet of cooler space, and two additional docks.
